The coping and surrounds make or break a pool. Done well, the pool looks built-in and finished; done badly, you get wobbly bullnose edges, uneven joints and puddles. We lay pool coping and pool surround paving with the precision this work needs: square edges, consistent overhangs, accurate falls away from the water.

What we do around pools
- Pool coping – drop-face and bullnose coping in bluestone, travertine, sandstone and granite.
- Pool surround paving – matching or contrasting paving out to the fence line and alfresco.
- Spa and wet-edge detailing – coping around raised spas, steps and swim-outs.
- Finishing the yard – turf, garden beds, screening plants, lighting conduit and the landscaping that ties the pool in with the rest of the garden.
Coping materials
We only recommend natural stone for pool coping. Bluestone is the classic Melbourne choice: dense, hard-wearing and it ages beautifully. Travertine has a soft, natural look and stays cool underfoot. Sandstone and granite suit both traditional and modern pools. We’ll help you choose a stone with the right finish and slip resistance for your pool, budget and style.

Pool coping FAQs
Can you re-cope an existing pool?
Yes. We remove the old coping, check and prepare the bond beam, and lay new coping. It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to modernise an older pool. Re-coping is often done at the same time as a pool interior renovation.
Do you work with pool builders?
Yes. We regularly come in after the shell is installed to do the coping, paving and full landscaping, and we coordinate with your pool builder and fencer on levels and timing.
Which coping is least slippery?
Look for outdoor products rated P4 or P5 (or R11 and above) for wet barefoot areas. All the coping we recommend for pool areas meets a suitable slip rating.
